Since the lock down due to COVID-19 pendemic, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro, finally started the Accounting Forum Series of 2020. However, this year Accounting Forum Series is slightly different compared to previous years, as this forum was held on-line. However, although attended by more than 400 participants using Zoom platform, interactive and flourishing discussion remains the same as the previous forums.
Current AF 2020 which was held on Saturday, 18 July 2020 discussed the multiple facets of financial statement fraud, including definition and motives of fraudulent financial reporting, red flag classifications, detecting financial statement fraud as well as recent sample cases. Mr. Stevanus Alexander B.P. Sianturi, SE., Ak. M. For Acc (Partner – Forensics, EY Indonesia) that has extensive background on forensic accounting provided in-depth discussion on the financial statement fraud. Accompanied by Surya Raharja, SE.,M.Si.,Ph.D.,Ak.,CA. as the moderator, left no questions unanswered. Mr. Sianturi also diffentiated accounting gimmicks and fraud in financial reports and some important competencies required for forensic accountant.
Next accounting forum will be held on 23 July 2020 at 11.00 – 14.00 on the relevance of accounting in the digital world by Dr. Angela Liew from University of Auckland Business School, New Zealand in which, Dr. Fuad will act as moderator.
