Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Universitas Diponegoro in collaboration with Indonesian Institute of Accounting, Educators Compartment of Central Java just organized a round table discussion on preparing students’ competencies to face indstry revolution 4.0. The organizer invited Mr. Isnaeni Achdiat, CA, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, a faculty member of Accounting Dept. Universitas Indonesia, as well as one of IAI advisory boards. He also serves one of partners in EY and president of ISACA Indonesia.

The event was also attended by accounting lecturers of UNDIP and several other universities from Central Java. The non formal discussion had concluded several important issues: 1) the industrial revolution 4.0 will (or have?) greatly affect accounting sectors, and in response to that, 2) the lecturers should also be equipped with the up-dated knowledge and skills on IT-related business processes that can be transferred to the students and 3) academicians are also encouraged to adjust their curriculum to accommodate both the core, substantial accounting knowledge and its IT-based usage and development.
