Badung, Bali – A proud moment for Diponegoro University (Undip) as one of its students, Fiona Orinda Sugionoto, an Accounting student from the Class of 2022, secured 1st place at the Taekwondo Kasal Cup 2 International Open 2025. The competition took place from February 14–16, 2025, at Purna Krida, Badung, Bali.

This prestigious event gathered 2,000 participants, including international and national athletes, as well as competitors from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI-Polri) and the Indonesian Taekwondo Federation. The championship followed the National Taekwondo Cup in Jakarta in October 2023.

In his opening speech, the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) emphasized that this event was more than just a competition—it was also a demonstration of the Indonesian Navy’s commitment to the development of national sports and the enhancement of Indonesian athletes’ achievements on the international stage.

“This championship is part of the implementation of the Grand Design for National Sports (DBON), which aligns with one of the priority programs under President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita vision,” said the Chief of Naval Staff. He also expressed appreciation for all participants and countries involved, hoping that this event would further inspire young generations to pursue martial arts.

“Today’s achievement is not the end but rather the beginning of a journey toward even greater success in the future,” he added.

Through dedication and consistent training, Fiona delivered an outstanding performance throughout the championship. With determination and a well-planned strategy, she secured victory and brought home the championship title. Her win is a testament to Undip students’ ability to compete and excel on the international stage.

This achievement is expected to inspire other Undip students to continue developing their potential and bringing pride to the university—both academically and in extracurricular fields.

Congratulations to Fiona Orinda Sugionoto! May this accomplishment serve as motivation for other students to keep striving for excellence.
